  I’ve used Maple Framing on & off for a few years mostly for strut mounts. The service has always been fine. In one of my wedding packages the wedding album on offer is the portrait album with matching coloured box, it’s one of the cheapest albums I offer and to be honest not very popular but an option for those on a budget. A few weeks ago I tried to order an album from Maple Framing and was told these have been discontinued and therefore were only being made to order & no longer stocked. On this instance I had to offer my customer an alternative (at my cost) but hey ho these things happen. Fast forward a few weeks & I place another order for portrait album, which clearly states it comes in a matching coloured box & the images shows this clearly too plus the one I purchase as a display sample is in a match ivory box. The guy at Maple Framing explains there will be a slight delay due to having to order from their supplier and I was ok with this but at no stage was it mentioned that the box was no longer a ‘matching coloured box’ but was now an ugly black box, for an ivory album !! When it arrived I just assumed they’d sent the wrong box by mistake so I messaged them straight away, expecting them to just exchange the box and therefore I proceeded to make up the album, gluing in the images & mounts. The response I got from Maple Framing was not very helpfully at all. Basically telling me that it cost too much to make the ivory boxes & most of his customers prefer the black boxes... however this is not what my customer wants, she wants her ivory album in an ivory box as clearly shown on their website & this is what I ordered. If at anytime Maple Framing had explained the album would come in a black box I could have explained this to my customer & given her the option to choose an alternative. The response I then got from Maple Framing was... ‘just take the images out & we’ll collect & refund !! ‘ But to do this the images, that I’ve purchased, the mounts and the album would be destroyed because the images have been glued in. All I want is the correct box as advertised on their site. It’s clear that if ‘all my other customers prefer the black box’ they have been fully aware for some time that they can’t provide the ‘matching coloured box’ therefore are blatantly misleading & misselling. I’m now left with 2 options, I return the album for a refund, having to reorder the images (at my cost) and then source an alternative album for my customer who will probably then want something more expensive (again at my cost) or I look for a company that can supply an ivory box that the album will fit into (yet again at my cost) which all seems a little unfair when Maple Framing are blatantly falsely advertising and are unwilling to take any responsibility.
